"In defense of Karin Asaka"

Is it some sort of a clickbait title? Idk.

I don't want to change people's thoughts on Karin or something like that, I mean, if you don't like a girl I don't have the right to change your mind. Somehow today I started thinking about her (maybe because of her solo??) so I wanted to give my opinion totally not requested.

I read that someone doesn't like her mostly because of one of her assertions: because she is a 17 year old girl who says "she'll use her mature, adult-like body to give everyone a stimulating show like they've never seen before".

Okay, let's start saying that I don't think they wanted to make her say something in... that sense XD also because her Wiki says that she has a very innocent side to her as well??

Anyway, Karin is a third-year student, so she's 17. I'm talking as an 18 year old person, so not so far from her age (and I can swear that really few things change in a year). It's said that she has "the looks and the body of someone much older than a high school student" and that she wants to become a model, so she's aware of her appearance...

It wouldn't be the first time in which we see a mature body shown without problems, I mean

this isn't actually loli content.

BUT it would be the first time in which one of the girls actually says that she wants to use also her body.

Karin probably knows that idols are not only singing and dancing. They're appearance, too, so yeah: cute outfits, cute smiles, cute expressions or everything that could make people happy and excited. So she knows she can use her beauty in her favour, to help her in the idol "work".

But it's not only that. She wants to become a model, but her Wiki also says that she wanted to become a school idol to boost up her self-confidence. The beautiful, adult-looking Karin hasn't got enough self esteem for her wishes and thinks that being a school idol could help her.

I'm sorry for this long post, I just want to say something else. The fact that a 17 year old teenager is self aware of her body and would "use" (ugh, I don't like this word, but I can't think of another one) this trait in her favour is not so strange... my classmate has also a really mature-like body, she's really beautiful, and sometimes she works as a "model" for local events. She's a really nice person, even a bit shy.

Sorry, again, ahah. I wanted to express my thought, probably I made a bunch of mistakes, forgive me. Wow, so much to say for a character that we don't even know well. We can have a polite discussion, can't we?
