Happy Birthday Maki! ♡ 04.19.18

Here’s a drawing I did for her birthday this year! I also drew something for Maki last year

Maki has been my best girl for three years. Ever since I started playing SIF back in 2015, I’ve loved Maki for the whole time. When I started playing (during the end of Love is a Mirage Maki event), I had no prior knowledge of Love Live and thought it was just an idol rhythm game. With my starter, I didn’t really know who to pick so I looked around between the descriptions of all the girls. The one that caught my attention (you guessed it) was Maki. Her hobby of stargazing struck me as something special. I didn’t understand why, but it felt that even such a perfect looking girl was just like a normal person like me or you. At the time I didn’t know it, but that’s an important aspect of Maki to me. My love for her goes beyond her tsundere personality and her love for tomatoes (but the tomatoes do help)

After playing the game more, I was attached to her voice. Maki’s voice was special to me and absolutely one of my favorites. I struggled to play one of the harder songs at the time, Soldier Game, but I wanted to be able to clear it to fully hear Maki’s voice in a song I liked so much. Her voice actress Pile has amazing songs as well and I especially love her duet with Rin’s VA 4to6. Maki was my second SR card and the very first one I idolized too. As I understood and got better at SIF, I made it a goal to try to get her next event card which was the Cherry Blossom Maki, which I successfully did with my poor teams and dedication. As I progressed on in SIF, I was determined to tier for each Maki event after and I have done so. Each event has been an uphill battle... especially with the LP reduced Doing Your Best is Wonderful Event with Kotori and Maki.

After watching both seasons of the Love Live anime, it made me fall deep for Maki. I began to understand why I loved her so much. Maki helped me understand myself and was a projection of my feelings, but in such a way for me to see that I am capable of doing what she can. In school, I had a hard time making friends as I was shy and kept to myself which in turn seemed as if I was cold and distant, when in reality, I felt incapable of making friends. Maki, characterized as cold, showed me that although opening up to people can be hard at first and really uncomfortable, it is a great thing to be able to bond and share experiences with others. I felt as I was able to do something about my situation and desired to find friends and acceptance as Maki did too. Her stern, mature, and tsundere behaviour was of my own and touched me personally.

In SIF WW, I have all three of her SSRs (with the help of her birthday box), 3 URs, and a total of 53/92 Maki cards in my collection. Her bond is the highest and about 4 times more than the second. On SIF JP, I have 4 of her URs and again, she is my highest bonded member

I have a dedicated section of my figurine shelf dedicated to Maki merch. (it isn’t a lot, but I treasure each item dearly) also a missing Maki neso

I’ve created several wallpapers for the application wallpaper engine dedicated to Maki and have one with about 1500 subscribers to it! The crediting for the artists are in the description for the wallpapers. My stream layout that I edited is also themed around Maki!

I saved up to 495 gems for Maki and scouted 10 times! Although I couldn’t get a UR from any of the pulls (which made me extremely disheartened), I was able to complete more of my collection with the missing SRs and SSRs I needed.
