Livid's uniform post finally made me get off my butt and draw my own school idols' uniforms (I'm really getting a lot of use out of this base lol)! this also made me realise that despite my huge amount of idol OCs, I only have three real schools (not counting Seikai Academy High School, which was bluebird's school before they graduated, and Kiyoku, who does her club activities for a private school but is otherwise essentially homeschooled due to her dad's connections). huh.

as worn by Kanae, Anzu, & Kairi respectively, though obviously it always kinda depends on the person how they wear it. SOUNDSCAPE in particular has a bunch of different styles.

well then, might as well use this post as a small infodump about these schools & their uniforms!

• Kitashirayama is a private boarding school focused primarily on the fine arts, especially music, and is very expensive, though it gives out scholarships pretty frequently
• its uniform has stayed mostly the same through the school's lifespan of over 100 years. every so often they optimise the material and adjust the core design juuust a little bit though
• one of those more recent changes were the coloured ribbons to easily distinguish between years
• Meian is a very new school, having only existed for 5 years, and is notoriously hard to get into due to them only accepting a small number of students, decided both by top scores in the entrance exam and who can actually pay the student fee
• it's very modern and clean with excellent equipment, though some of the teachers are older and don't really know how to use stuff like smartboards and projectors ... this is because Meian opened right as another school near it with a much longer history got closed. not all the students could transfer there due to money problems, but most of the teachers actually did
• Meian's uniform has an alternative colourscheme where the black & grey are swapped. some people believe it's their winter uniform, but no, both are actually available to everybody in summer & winter versions (they're just short/long sleeves respectively), people just tend to prefer the grey shirt for the warmer seasons
• Kinishikawa is just your normal everyday girls only high school in a small Okinawan town. pretty much every girl who lives there or nearby goes there, the boys have to go one town over. think Uranohoshi but with no alternatives so it's not in risk of closing
• there's nothing outstanding about it at all, it does its job but that's about it, although it does have a stronger sense of community than most because ... well, even with it being the only high school for girls in the area there's just not many people around
• its uniform comes with a grey blazer, but Kairi hardly ever wears it cause the material is kinda stiff and the whole thing is already kinda meh to look at lol

yes, Kairi being in Okinawa means she has to fly out for most of the Love Live performances ... but Shinobu's dad runs a hotel, so she's allowed to shoot videos there and at the small private beach that belongs to it. it's something at least?
