Today is August 3rd (at least it was when I started writing)! Happy Birthday, Honoka! I would like to take a bit of time to describe why I love Honoka.

The one thing that comes to my mind when I think of Honoka is her positivity. No matter what happens, she always keeps a smile on her face. For example, barely anyone showed up to watch her during her first performance as an idol. Even so, she was able to perform so well that everyone watching her eventually joined µ’s. In pretty much every Sukufesu story, Honoka is the one who exudes cheerfulness, motivating the other girls to do their best. Whether it is cooking a meal or helping out at a shrine, normal tasks become exciting and fun when Honoka is around.

The other thing that stands out about Honoka is her passion for idols. Honoka can be so focused on her performance that she sometimes forgets common sense. Leading up to µ’s’s (is that how you format that?) performance of “No brand girls,” Honoka practiced so much that she ended up collapsing from exhaustion. Additionally, during the mini-drama that was shown at their 5th Live, Honoka sees that the audience is too fired up; she therefore puts their dresses in the refrigerator to somehow cool the audience down, not realizing that the rest of her group mates are frantically trying to find the dresses before the curtain rises. Despite her scatterbrained approach toward life, Honoka always gives it her all: she does the first thing she can think of and runs forward, never looking back. This outlook toward life is always an inspiration for me to do my best at whatever I do as well.

Finally, Honoka always cares for her friends. Even if she is oblivious to her friends’ worries due to her focus on her idol activities, she is one of the first to support them when she does realize what is going on. In a Sukufesu story that I recently unlocked, Umi kept the fact she was entering an archery tournament a secret because she wanted the rest of µ’s to focus on their practice. But when Honoka discovered why Umi was skipping practice, she convinced the rest of the team to not only show up at the tournament to support Umi, but also to make her a lunch and custom headband. Honoka is a great friend and a pillar of support for her teammates.

I love how Honoka’s seiyuu, Nitta Emi, is able to so clearly and convincingly portray Honoka’s enthusiasm, both in stories and in songs. In terms of music, Honoka’s solos, especially “Susume→Tomorrow,” “Yume Naki Yume wa Yume ja nai,” and “Ai wa Taiyou Ja Nai?,” convey her desire to sing and dance. Also, although it is not included in Sukufesu, the cast of µ’s voiced characters in the video game “Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Paradox,” and Honoka’s character song, “Senkou Resolution,” is one of her most energetic. You should definitely look it up if you haven’t heard it!

I am still a developing artist, but I wanted to draw Honoka. This drawing is based off of one of her SSR’s (specifically #937 unidolized).

Honoka, your overwhelming positivity, enthusiasm, and compassion for you friends definitely makes you the leader of µ’s. Happy Birthday, and Faito Dayo!
