An insight into how my character creation process goes:

"I mentioned that Chie has friends who call her Chi-chan but who'd even wanna be friends with such a terrible person? ...unless, well wait a second, she can be friends with boys. She doesn't need to be friends with only girls. Actually yeah that makes sense, she seems like the type of person who'd have a much easier time hanging with boys than girls.

Okay but why would somebody tolerate her hm. OH maybe he has some dirt on her, like some evidence of something she did. Actually no, it'd be better if they're genuinely friends. So why would he accept that she toys around the way she does with other idols...maybe he just doesn't like idols. Finds them pretentious. Or mayybeeeee he was hurt by an idol. Maybe he dated one and- OH HANG ON -galaxy brain- He dated Mana" (she's a serial dater, that's something that I thought about a while ago but just never mentioned) "and she broke up with him and that's why he's like Screw idols. What if she even dumped him via text!"

And that's how I came up with Chibi-hime's closest friend, I named him Tadashi

They have known each other for years (childhood friends probably) and much like Chie he carries a lot of contempt for other people, but unlike Chie he 1) doesn't act on it and rather just doesn't engage with people and spends most of his time at home 2) is perfectly aware that it's shitty behaviour and occasionally attempts to change it and 3) often calls her out on being a trash person (to which she usually reacts with "I know, right? ;D")

Also he's her composer since he's good with computers and composing software (hence the red hair, composers have red hair). Like I said, he occasionally tries to change his behaviour and tries to genuinly engage with other people more (which is how he ended up dating Mana) but it always tends to end badly sending him right back into a mindset of "People are dumb"

(Oof it's kinda funny how most Idol-OCs around here are made for a genuine love for the franchise and for cheery idols who want to inspire people and meanwhile I'm in my corner like "Time for Idol Game of Thrones")
