It’s my favorite PDP girl’s birthday, Ayumu!
I just wanted to give her some love and to spread some of the things that I like about her since there’s less information about the PDP girls, and less to go off of as a result. I can’t go too into depth or anything, so here are a few things that I’d still like to point out!

I think she’s a nice contrast from the other project protagonists/centers that we’ve had in the past since she’s vocal about being considered “lesser” than people around her, which extends past the other members of PDP to her childhood friend that made her join the club. She compares herself to others pretty readily when she can’t seem to “catch up” to others. I’ve always considered how she seeks validation and the hesitation that she shows with going to others for help to be refreshing traits, especially since they emphasize the messier traits of having low confidence instead of more endearing quirks.
In Yume e no Ippo, her lines state “I'd miss a step and fall, I'd look at the map and still be lost/Sometimes I cannot move forward at all. Life is so hard.” Certain lines within the franchise like this catch my eye since they seem kind of jarring, but they really add to some of the heart that can be buried within the characters. She also refers to how the days go by as “unchanging.” But despite the troubles that she experiences, she still goes at her own pace and does her best. It’s become a goal of hers to live up to her name through hard work so that she can say that she’s at least done her best.
From what I’ve seen, she’s definitely a relatable character with great potential. I think that most can resonate with being dissatisfied and overwhelmed by things in life, but that why I think that it’s still nice that her character motif is to keep moving forward despite that and to not to give up.

I also considered her solo song to be pretty interesting combined with her intro SIF story. She says that she wanted to become a school idol to make her dream with her childhood friend come true, and states that her friend is a positive and proactive force in trying to make this happen. It motivates further since she wants to see it through as well.
She talks to the viewer personally rather often, so I made the assumption that her solo song was doing so as well. I still think that she’s talking to the audience, but the implication that she’s also talking to that same childhood friend is incredibly sweet to me. She seems to direct her words to them more clearly from a few lines in her solo song, where she says “We're no longer just friends, or even best friends/We're partners in polishing ourselves.” It links back to how she mentions them in her introduction pretty well and emphasizes things that are important to her outside of purely being an idol. It makes me excited to see more content with her to try following her dreams♡
If anything I hope this gives people a little more to appreciate about her♡ Happy birthday Ayumu!
